Boksläpp- Januari månad!

Januari månad är här och jag tänkte dela med mig kring vilka böcker som kommer släppas nu under första månaden. Det är en bladning av kända författare, nya blommstrande debuter, sci-ficktion och asiatisk insprirerade sagor. Vilka planerar du att läsa?

Tiden är före "Kampen om järntronen/Games of Thrones", första boken i Sagan om is och eld, och än sitter huset Targaryen på järntronen, Aerys I Targaryen är kung och lord Brynden Flod, som är oäkta son till Aegon IV, är hans hand. Den unge riddaren Duncan den store och hans väpnare Egg blir snart brickor i ett spel på liv och död.

När riddaren Arlan dör får hans väpnare Duncan ta över hästar, ringbrynja, långsvärd, dolk och sköld samt lite silverpengar. Duncan är lång, bredaxlad och stark, han kan varken skriva eller läsa men Arlan har lärt honom vapenkonst och höviskt uppträdande samt dubbat honom till riddare. Som Duncan den store beger han sig till Askvadet för att delta i en tornering.

På ett värdshus stöter han på pojken Egg, åtta, nio år gammal, som vill bli hans väpnare. Till en början är Dunk skeptisk men Egg är tjänstvillig och till slut faller Duncan till föga. Det visar sig att Egg inte är den han utger sig för att vara och när Dunk hamnar i svårigheter blir pojken ett oumbärligt sällskap.
